What does PocketHound-Pro detect?
The detector searches for transmitted cellular signals. It supports phone-use checks in meeting rooms, educational and testing facilities, workplaces and controlled areas.

A consistent check in three steps
- Select your regionSwitch on using the front button and check the country or region setting. The antenna is already built in.
- Adjust sensitivityStart with 0 dB attenuation. Adjust the alert threshold and attenuation to match nearby signals.
- Monitor the signalMove slowly through the area. Watch the strongest signal readings and the peak recorded by Watermark.
Before you startA phone must transmit a supported cellular signal to be detected. Switched-off devices and devices that are not transmitting at the time cannot be detected. Standby transmissions may be infrequent, so allow enough time for a check.

Frequently asked questions
Which cellular signals can it detect?
PocketHound-Pro searches for active cellular transmissions in supported 600–3800 MHz bands for the selected region. Detection of 2G / 3G / 4G / 5G depends on the band in use and the device transmitting.
Can it detect a phone in standby?
Yes, when the phone communicates with the cellular network. There may be long gaps between transmissions. Watermark helps retain a brief signal peak even when you are not watching the screen.
What is the detection range?
The manufacturer specifies up to approximately 46 m indoors with a clear line of sight, around 23 m through ordinary obstacles and around 12 m through reinforced concrete or steel. These are indicative, not guaranteed, figures; surroundings and phone transmission power affect results.
Does it detect Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and AirTag?
This model is designed for cellular signals. Choose BlueSleuth-Lite for BLE tags or Yorkie-Pro for broader wireless checks.
Does it reveal phone numbers or call content?
No. It is a passive RF receiver that displays signal activity. It does not identify phone numbers or intercept calls, messages or other transmitted data.
Can I attach an external antenna?
No. PocketHound-Pro has an integrated wideband antenna and does not support an external antenna. See Yorkie for a model with a removable antenna.
How long does the battery last?
The latest manufacturer data sheet specifies 3–4 hours, while manual v1.3 specifies 2–3 hours. Actual runtime depends on operating conditions. USB-C charging takes approximately 4–5 hours.
How can I reduce frequent alerts?
Raise the alert threshold or attenuation. If no signals are detected, reduce attenuation. Sound and vibration can be switched off separately, and Stealth mode is available.
