When is the MR-130 useful?
This slim, lightweight recorder is suitable for meetings, lectures, interviews and spoken notes. Choose PCM when sound quality matters most, or XHQ and HQ to store more audio. Microphone sensitivity and the VOS threshold can be adjusted to suit your surroundings.
Distance from the speaker, background noise and microphone placement affect the result. Make a test recording before an important conversation.
From setup to playback in three steps
- PrepareCharge the recorder and use TIME SETUP to set the time, quality and microphone sensitivity.
- RecordDisconnect USB and move the recording switch. Return it to STOP when finished so the file is saved.
- ListenUse the controller and earphones, or connect to a computer and copy your recordings.
VOS and battery lifeVOS skips silent sections, but the manufacturer states that it does not extend battery life. Quiet speech may not trigger recording, so VOS OFF is recommended for important recordings. 288 hours is the HQ storage capacity, not operation on a single charge.

How long can it record on one charge?
The manufacturer specifies about 13 hours in PCM or XHQ and about 15 hours in HQ. These figures describe battery life, which is separate from memory capacity and depends on operating conditions.
How much audio fits in 8 GB?
Approximately 24 hours in PCM, 144 hours in XHQ or 288 hours in HQ. Up to 9,999 files can be created. Reaching the full storage duration requires recharging the recorder.
How does VOS sound activation work?
VOS pauses recording during silence and resumes when sound exceeds the selected threshold. Five sensitivity levels are available. It saves memory and listening time, but does not extend battery life.
How do I set the date, time and quality?
With the switch at STOP, connect to a Windows computer and run TIME SETUP from the recorder. Choose the settings, click START and safely disconnect USB. Recording filenames include a date and time stamp.
Can I schedule recording?
Yes. TIME SETUP supports a daily start time and a duration of 1, 2, 5, 10 or 20 hours. PCM and VOS are unavailable in scheduled recording. Available power and memory limit the actual duration.
Can I listen without a computer?
Yes. Connect the supplied playback controller and earphones. The controller supports play/pause, volume adjustment and navigation between recordings. Playback is unavailable during recording.
How do I transfer recordings?
Set the switch to STOP and connect the USB cable. The computer recognises a removable MEMOQ drive, with recordings in the Voice folder. Copy the files, safely eject the device and then unplug it.
How should I prepare for an important conversation?
Charge the battery, check available memory and verify the date. Make a test recording in the same environment and adjust microphone sensitivity. The manufacturer recommends VOS OFF for important recordings to avoid missing quiet speech.
