    Detection range: up to 20 cm (detects even the latest Nano SIM cards at a distance of up to 20 cm). Frequency: 2.4 GHz transmission; 4.8 GHz (2nd harmonic); 7.2 GHz (3rd harmonic).

  • The EDD-24XT is a portable Non-Linear Junction Detector (NLJD) designed specifically for professional counter-surveillance operations (TSCM).

    It detects the presence of semiconductor circuits found in all modern electronic devices such as mobile phones, tracking devices, listening devices, covert cameras, digital voice recorders, SIM cards, and more. Importantly, the EDD-24XT can detect these devices whether they are powered on and active, in standby mode, or completely switched off without any power supply.

    The EDD-24XT is supplied with an adjustable aluminium extension pole that can be set to any length between 30 cm and 140 cm, allowing users to inspect elevated or hard-to-reach areas with ease.

    Principle of Operation

    • Semiconductors, made primarily of silicon, are used in all modern electronic devices. When high-frequency radio signals are transmitted directly over silicon, they generate a strong second harmonic (2nd harmonic) of that signal. Other materials, such as certain bi-metals or oxidized metals, may instead produce a third harmonic (3rd harmonic) response.
    • The EDD-24XT transmits a focused directional signal at 2.4 GHz (ISM Band Type B) and receives at 4.8 GHz (2nd Harmonic) and 7.2 GHz (3rd Harmonic).
    • Its highly sensitive receiver detects signals generated by even the smallest silicon components — such as those found in SIM cards, mobile phones, bugging devices, voice recorders, and covert cameras. Detection is possible regardless of whether the device is powered, in standby, or switched off.
    • The 3rd Harmonic receiver serves as a valuable confirmation tool to distinguish between semiconductor materials and non-threatening responses from metals or oxidized surfaces.

    Probability Indicator

    • To assist even inexperienced users, the EDD-24XT employs an intelligent algorithm that analyses signals from both the 2nd and 3rd harmonic receivers. It then calculates and displays the probability of the detected material being ‘Silicon’ or ‘Metal’, simplifying the interpretation of results.

    Properties

    • Detects all types of electronics – active, passive, or powered off;
    • Adjustable extension pole: 30 cm to 140 cm;
    • Adjustable head angle – 5 lockable positions over 90°;
    • Easy-to-use, intuitive user interface;
    • 2.4 GHz transmit power – up to 4 Watts;
    • 2nd Harmonic (4.8 GHz) and 3rd Harmonic (7.2 GHz) receivers;
    • As powerful and sensitive as much larger so-called “portable” units;
    • Material identification indicator: “Silicon” or “Metal”;
    • Detects even the latest Nano SIM cards from up to 20 cm;
    • Audible tone and demodulation function via speaker or earphones;
    • Battery life up to 4.5 hours;
    • Weight less than 900 g.;
    • Machined aluminium enclosure with moulded plastic antenna cover;
    • Supplied in a compact military-standard carry case;

    Audio Confirmation

    • The EDD-24XT provides audio confirmation of detected signals in two modes — via the built-in loudspeaker or through earphones.
    • Tone Mode: Generates an audible tone corresponding to a detected 2nd harmonic signal. The tone pitch varies with signal strength, allowing the operator to search without viewing the display.
    • Demod Mode: Enables listening to the actual demodulated 2nd harmonic signal. When no signals are detected, a random “clicking” sound is heard; when silicon is detected, the clicks may reduce or disappear entirely.

    Adjustable Head

    • The EDD-24XT features an adjustable antenna head with five lockable positions over a 90° range, adjustable at the push of a button.
    • Two 200 g counterweights are included, which can be attached to the base of the extension pole to balance the assembly for comfort, especially when extended.

    Portability

    • Weighing less than 900 g, the EDD-24XT is genuinely portable. Its rugged machined aluminium housing and durable plastic antenna cover ensure long-lasting performance.
    • The built-in lithium polymer battery provides up to 4.5 hours of operation per charge. The complete kit is delivered in a compact military-standard carry case, ensuring protection and easy transport. The total package weight is just 3.0 kg.
